About Us
So, who is Pathway?  Pathway consist of 3 brothers, a son and 2 good friends of the family. 
Pathway is Mountain Roads Recordings newest edition. 

Mark Freeman - Mark does it all, contributing to Banjo, Rythm guitar, and all vocals including: lead, baritone, and Tenor Vocals.  Mark is one of the finest 5-string banjo players and vocalist around. Mark also writes several of the groups songs and instrumentals.  Mark has won many awards for his banjo playing.  Mark is married(Liz) and has a son (Justin), daughter (Jessica), son-in-law (Josh), and a daughter-in-law(Jennifer).

Justin Freeman -  Justin (Mark's Son) is the one of the youngest members of the group.  Justin plays lead, rythm guitar and also has contributition to a few lead and several harmony vocals(baritone, and tenor vocals) to the group. Justin has also takin part in writting and arranging material for the band giving his fresh thoughts and ideas. Justin was just recently married to Miss Jennifer Freeman.
 
Mitchell Freeman - Bass and tenor vocals, is one of the three brothers (some say the oldest) in the group.  Mitch has been playing bass and singing for over 20 years.  He also writes or co-writes many of the groups songs.  He is married (Mary Ann) with a daughter (Candice), and a son (Micheal).

Jake Long - Jake is the youngest member of the group and plays mandolin, guitar and contributes some in vocals.  Jake also puts his two cents in on band material and arrangements.  His love for the newer interpretation of bluegrass shows in the bands dynamics. He is currently going to school at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Casey Byrd - Casey joined the band on December of 2007, and is one of the best Dobro players in the area.  Casey has played with several well known musicians through the years , and also contributes on Lead Vocals, and song writing. Casey is also married with a young son, and daughter.

Scott Freeman - Mandolin, Fiddle and Vocals. Scott grew up in Mt. Airy, North Carolina in the family playing bluegrass and gospel music with his brothers. He plays, arranges and writes songs, which have been recorded by some of the top touring bands in bluegrass music. He has recorded three solo projects, SOUTHERN SOUVENIRS, FRIENDS FOR THE JOURNEY, an CAROLINA WELCOMES YOU,  each showcasing his varied musical tastes. Scott spends his time now teaching fiddle and mandolin. Scott is married(Jill) and has a teenage daughter(Dora).

All the members of the band work, have families or are in the progress of making families, and/or go to school full-time while playing their music.  The love of the music and the Lord is what drives the band to continue what they do, while the money is just a plus!
